going through the 'I hate my dress' phase

I have always been up and down with my dress! It was the first dress I tried on and bought it on the spot. FH wanted to pay for it as a gift to me, so he did. After that, I started hating the color (champagne).....and lately I have been hating the bow and how it ties in the back!!! Its too late to change anything (FH would freak since he paid it off and its technically a gift, plus it would be out of budget to get another dress).I am stuck with a dress that I 'like' and am slowly starting to resent! Also, watching Say Yes to the Dress and Girl Meets Gown hasn't helped me much either! I end up wanting all these dresses I cannot have!

I need your opinions!!! What do you honestly think of my dress? Is it not was bad as I think? Should I have the bow removed from the back? I havent had any other women (besides my MOH) see it in person and she didn't seem too impressed.

I just looked at it!! ITS GORGEOUS!! I promise you dont change a thing .. I LOVE the bow..

Im sorry youre having those feelings - I have to think most girls have doubts sometimes. Those shows dont help but be confident in your choice. Its a beautiful dress - I love it!!

Your dress is GORGEOUS~the color, the bow, the pick ups~just GORGEOUS!!!!

I doubted my dress too, right before the wedding. But, once the alterations were done, I fell in love with it again and I’m sure you will too.

I think it is a beautiful dress... i also think maybe you should go to the store and try it on again so you can remember the feelings you had when you first decided it was the one for you! I think we all doubt some of our choices cause its so long we go without seeing them!

I'm going through the same thing. I just keep trying to remember back to that feeling when I put the dress on and didn't want to take it off. Feel free to FM me. I know how you're feeling.

I think the bow is GREAT! It is a very beautiful dress and I think that once you're all done up and ready on the day of, all your worries are going to be out the door!

Now, If you're still feeling funny about it, what about a second dress for the reception? I know you said it's not in the budget to get another dress, BUT you can get some really awesome deals at Davids or even Ebay! A 2011-er just ordered her gown from ebay and it looked really beautiful!

its really pretty! believe me once you go to your fitting you will change your mind. i doubted my dress at first too and then once i went to my first fitting i was like, wow this dress looks great! lol..

I personally LOVE your dress! I think its GORGEOUS!

but you have to love it... I know what you're going through... I was never 100% on my dress and watching all these wedding shows and seeing everyone else's dresses isn't helping.

just know this, no matter what you wear on your wedding day, you are going to look AMAZING!

once you have a veil on and DOJ you'll feel so much better!

at one point when I was watching A LOT of SYTD I felt the same way. all these beautiful dresses, some that u never thought even to try on and u cant try even anymore.
but that was during the 8 months I didnt see my dress
the moment I started w/alterations and then the day of - WOW! I looooooved it!!!

its normal to doubt ur choice, esp one that u pay for and dont get to take home

everyone goes thru it

Your dress is GORGEOUS! I am having the same problem but I really do think it's those shows more than anything! You have to remember that with your hair, makeup and jewelry, you will look incredible! There is a reason you chose that dress!

I think your dress is amazing...but I completely understand how your feeling. Between the bridal shows and all the dresses on this site I am always second guessing mine...and everything else about the wedding as well. I just have to keep reminding myself of my original 'vision' for my wedding and stick to my initial decisions. HTH

Thanks soooo much ladies!

It means a lot to hear you girls say such nice things! I have been going back and forth about how I feel about the dress for such a long time! It helps to know I am not the only one who went through, or is going through this! I am hoping I will fall back in love with it when its time for fittings.

Your dress is gorgeous! However, you have to feel comfortable wearing it. If you're not crazy about the bow, take it off and see what it looks like without it.

I loveee your dress!! It's gorgeous and I personally wouldn't change a thing. But if you don't like the bow get rid of it. You're gonna look beautiful in it...the dress really is stunning!!

I think the dress is beautiful!!! Go try it on again and maybe you'll feel differently.

If I am being honest I'm not a HUGE fan of bows so I would just find a different way to tie the sash. Or maybe get a belt instead that matches the detail on the bottom.

But I think it's so pretty. I felt the same way about my dress and after looking for something different I just ended up going right back the my original dress.

Your Dress is gorgeous. I love the bow and everything. I wanted this dress for ages but when it came to it i realized i really wanted an Ivory dress but i absolulty love this one.

I am the same everytime i think about my dress but as soon as i try it back on i know why i fell in love with it. I cant wait until i start my fittings in Nov to try it on again and fall in love with it again.

I am normally very picky but I really genuinely LOVE your dress. I think it is elegant and regal looking, and the champagne is perfect for a late summer/fall wedding. I would not change a thing. I think the feelings and doubt you are having are perfectly normal though. We all go through this!
