I get so frigin nervous whenever I call to talk to anyone at the church so wish me luck! I wanna see if it's possible to take the classes somewhere in Queens instead of traveling to the Bronx for them, so hopefully they say that's okay.

i think its like a whole weekend type deal, u sleep there 1 or 2 nights but you get pre-cana done all in one wknd....we might have to do it since according to the church, i live in NY and FH lives in Philly....righhhtttt

It satisfies your pre-cana requirement but it is a getaway for the entire weekend.. FH and I are thinking of doing this because our church doesnt have Precana classes... and we love getting away...

ooooooo... yeah FH totally would not do that LOL. We'll just take the regular classes.
I just called and left a message with the priest at my church. Apparantly, the old priest I talked to last time when booking the church is officially no longer there so I now I have to talk to this new priest - I hope he's nice!

I think Pre- cana is a dioces run thing, so they might not let you take it in Queens.
We wanted FH's uncle to do ours, they run a pre-cana in Nassau and we weren't able to.
The weekend thing might be nice, but I have to be honest with you, we did the friday night, sat day and that was loooooong enough.
If you haven't done religious retreats I wouldn't suggest it, and besides I doubt they would let you and FH stay in the same room.

I have talked to people running programs in Queens.... they will gladly accept Manhattan brides...
I think it's because they are all part of the Archdiocese of New York

No they don't let you stay in the same room.. but everyone who's been say it is one of the best experiences.. You really get in to the whole precana mode I guess...
