So when ever I mention to any one that we are going to Disney this month ( if any one has any places we should definitely see pleas tell) they say where are you staying? At the Disney movie resort OH.....
What is the diff, so we did not spend $$$ on the hotel we are just going to sleep there...JUST Paid for a wedding people hellooooo

Awesome!!!! I just got back from Disney with FH!!! We stayed at the POP Century resort (another budget hotel). It was great!!! Def go see 'It's Tough to be a Bug' and the Dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom!!! Mickey's Philharmagic is great too at Magic Kingdom! Oh you are going to have so much fun!!!!! I'm so jealous, I would totally go back! Did you get the meal plan too???
Oh and you ARE allowed to bring food on the flight, just not drinks (at least Southwest you were). If you didn't get the meal plan - bring food from home so you don't spend $3 on an ice cream pop.

Have a great time!! FH and I stayed at the All star resort (we stayed in music, but walked over to movie) and it was great!! The themes are so much fun!! Don't listen to these people!! Have fun!!

I stayed at the all-star resort for my senior class trip in high school and it was very nice! I don't think Disney does anything bad- so enjoy it!!! Plus, you are in the park and that is the best!! Have a great time! I love Disney and am so upset I won't be back until I'm married for like at least a year

I agree you are only sleeping there. The parks close late and open early so how much time are going to be at the hotel or should i out of your hotel room ! PLus the bonus is you get in the parks ealry no matter where you stay. Disney is amazing no matter where you stay. They don't make bad hotels they all have different themes. Have a great trip and who cars what people disney is disney.. I got engaged there

YES we got the meal plane I all ready can tell it was totaly worth it DH said we will see....we are having dinner at Planet Hollywood the 1st night come on now right there we save $$$ :)and we are flying southwest...

Hey..the way I see it, you're paying to stay IN Disney. FH and I went years ago when we were really young and stayed at the Ramada in Kissimmee. We drove down so we had a car so we decided to save money and not even stay in the lower priced of the on-site resorts.

FH and I went to Disney this past August and we had a BLAST!! It is truly the most magical place on earth. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is much cheaper than the other deluxe resorts since it is not on the monorail and yet it is just as spectacular.
As for things to see -
Magic Kingdom: Mickey's Philharmagic - definitely a 3D show you don't want to miss!
MGM: Stars and Motorcars Stunt Show - you will be truly amazed at what they can do!
Epcot: Soarin
Animal Kingdom: Kilamanjaros Safaris Expedition Everest - this ride is sooooooo new so you should go there IMMEDIATELY upon entering the park, grab a fastpass and come back. When we went, all the fastpasses were gone by 11am.

FH and I liked the All Star resort, and we're Disney fanatics, so we've stayed in a lot of places. I liked the All Stars better than Carribean Beach Resort. People are going to have opinions. Don't listen to them, you're going to have a BLAST!

this is funny, cause im planning my disney vacation for march 07 and i called disney to get a price on 5 nites at the polynesian with a 5 day park hopper and it was $3257
With the deluxe meal plan pacakge it was $4747.12
this is only for 5 nites, and with no airfare because we are driving, i really can not justify spending almost 5 grand on a 5 nite vacation!!!!
We are looking into the carribean beach resort instead but if anyone has another inexpensive disney resort they reccomend its much appreciated

i have to say...i dont like the all star resorts...but hey they're cheap and if you're not going to spend a lot of time there...then who cares!!! i stayed there with my parents when i went to visit them 2 yrs ago and they took me to disney for my bday for 2 days...i'm so used to staying in the 'nice' disney hotels that the all stars were just too grimey for me...i felt like i couldn't walk around the room without socks on...but hey! have fun!!! i love disney i'm going the day after thanksgiving with my sister her hubby her kids and my FH to visit my parents!! its soo exciting!!

i agree, i dont like the all stars, but thats because we did stay at the hotel for longer than sleep. i dont like any of the value resorts just because they are swarmed with kids. and if u go during some sports week, there are obnoxious teenage kids there. (like cheerleading and gymnastics week.. uggh) but you are only sleeping in it its fine. the only thing i'd say watch out for is that all of the all stars share one bus so the bus rides are gonna be packed. try to leave before the park closes some days (of course see the firework shows at least once) so you can get a seat on the bus and not wait forever. also, if you wanna cram in as many rides as possible, skip the parades and shows and head straight to the popular rides. they're empty at that time! i do it all of the time.
with the meal plan, i'd go to all of the expensive restaurants if possible. planet hollywood isnt that expensive so if you can, use it on something else. like the restaurants in epcot, or tony's town square in magic kingdom. that way you get the best quality of food and you can experience a new place (theres a bunch of planet hollywoods all over) try to eat at different times than normal breakfast lunch and dinner times. it'll save u time on the lines, and you can go on the rides faster. also make your dinner reservations as soon as possible if you can. its becoming a busy time for the hotels again (convention season) so the restaurants might be packed. (1 407-WDW-DINE) hope this helps
p.s. when are you going?? because right now is food and wine festival at epcot and its amazing. you must go!!

im sorry that is was horrible. any of the value resorts are going to be fluttered with screaming children and most likely abusive parents (or it just seems like every parent is abusive in disney!!) what exactly was wrong? that place needs a makeover asap. its definetely outdated. when i went in january, it seemed dirty. i dont know why but it did. it didnt help that the pool was closed and we paid for a room near the pool. that definetely sucked
