a picture id...like driver's license or passport...and then we just had to tell them our SS...but bring yours just in case...

you also have to know where you were born...town (cannot just be queens or brrooklyn though) and the country of your parents birth? I think

Bring your original birth certificate and picture id (we brought just our drivers license's).... oh, and money too. I think it was $25. Have fun!

Make sure you also both know your Mom's Maiden names. I know this sounds silly but my FH had to think about it for a second.

Do you definitely have to have your birth certificate? For some reason I am not confident my FH would know where it was.

No birth certificate was necessary for ours. We went to Hempstead Town Hall. We only needed two forms of ID (one had to have our picture on it...eg. drivers license).

JENN.....I wish I could tell you I was kidding. He also wasn't sure what hospital he was born in. It's a good thing I was there!

does it matter if the town where you were born isn't in NY? DF was born in PA. We're going Friday...

It's fine that he was born in PA...he just needs to know the name of the town of the hospital where he was born.
