Going to (hopefully) book tomorrow...

We are going to Captain Bill's tomorrow to hopefully leave a deposit and get a contract written up...

Any important things that should appear on the contract that I might not be thinking of, besides price, number of people, etc?

I am kinda nervous!!!

That's great!!! Good Luck!!

The only thing I can think of is to ask if Vallet parking is included...I assumed mine was and it is not!! I have to decide if I want it and then pay extra for the attendants. I was not happy!!

Let us know how it goes!! I have a friend who had her wedding there and she raved about it...I have heard very good things from a few others also.

well, ask about valet parking
have the time on there of your affair
the date
the room (if there is more than one)
any extras you added on the menu
anything they threw in for you
Vienesse or pastries
amount of deposit
tax
tip

hmm...i think that is most of it

I am not kidding on this one, FI's aunt made the BM put that the table linens will be ironed because when we looked at the place the table linens were not ironed.

If you have someone who is diabetic you want to make sure that in the contract its noted that certain people can not eat certain things and want to make sure that there will be something for them (maybe a special plate or something)

Make sure you read everything before you sign. If you have any questions make sure you ask before signing.

know about the cancelation policy, do they accept checks, credit cards, etc...

the room that will have your cocktail hour is listed, the room that your reception will be listed, how many things will be at your affair (for example we are having 3 carving stations, 10 hot chafing dishes, 10 hot hors d'oervres, there will be french white glove service, valet parking, and any extras we wanted or that were included in our price)

make sure whatever you ask for its in the contract.

these all sound really comprehensive. the only other thing i could think to add was whether they charge for vendors and if so, how much. that was a bit of a surprise for us when we first saw the contract, but luckily they only cost 50%
Good luck!

Make sure anything extra that you negotiated is on there. Payment schedule too.
Good Luck!

Ok, thanks ladies!!!

I will tell you tomorrow afternoon how it goes!

FH is an attorney, so he is pretty good with the contract thing, but he isn't all that knowledgable about the 'wedding' thing, so I wanted to make sure we weren't forgetting anything important!

PS Valet is included, but I will make sure it says so on the contract!
