So we were planning on going to NJ on Sunday to be there around 3:30-4. Is that going to be a total disaster? Are the streets opening by that time...like figure around 2?

Re: going to NJ on sunday...NYC marathon?? disaster?
streets are closed between 7 - 5, depending on the area.
i would google the map and see...but it doesnt sound good...
unless you are going thru SI. the marathon begins in SI, so i would imagine those roads opening up sooner

How would you be getting there? The Verranzano is closed until 3pm I believe.

If you stay south, you should be fine - everything below 58th street is open. SO maybe take the midtown tunnel and then either the lincoln tunnel or holland tunnel.

thanks guys! i dont even know how we were planning on getting there actually.
normally, the closest way would be to take the holland but we would still usually take the midtown to the lincoln cuz its easier but now i dont know what to do. this is only the second time were going to my friend...
google maps/directions is saying to take the GW. i dont know, im gonna be nervous whichever way we plan i think.
