Going to register tomorrow (with my preg friend - not me!) Please tell me your MUST register for items!!
My friend has NO IDEA what she wants, and she doesn't have a pc (ummm, is she the last person in the US to not be on line - yes!)
Please tell me your must have (or well-rated) high chairs, car seats, bottles, etc.!
Thanks Moms!

here is what I have...tell her to pick up the Denise Fields book- 'Baby Bargains'...
1- Boppy 2- bouncer...any type. I have the Fischer Price one. Now they also have Mobiles attached. great when you have to take a shower. Bring baby in bathrm and keep you door open (too much steam will make it heard for themt o breathe) 3- stroller - I have Chicco deluxe XL stroller. 4- Angelcare Monitor- has a separate deliver to insert under childs mattress that will alarm if baby stops breathing. Love it!! 5- swing- any type..check to get one with an OPEN top or unobstucted top so U dont bang the kid's head every time you take them out! I have Fischer Price one thst swings back and forth and side to side INVALUABLE
6- car seat- if you can afford it...BRITAX ROUNDABOUT. best there is. they make airplane seats and have a great safety record. Register for it and 2 people can chip in.
7- clothes- always a good thing to have Carters on your registry. There receiving blankets are the best. CLothes are very sturdy.
8- bottles- I am still bfding ( julianne is almost 8 months) but we use the playtex nursers. You buy drop in liners- (no need to boil the bottles b4 every use). register for the start set that gives u a sample of different nipp.els. and register for the drop ins.
hope this helps!!!

Without a doubt, the number one thing is the Fisher Price Kick and Play - I don't know how we would have survived (to this day!) without it!!
Other things:
1. Snap 'n Go 2. Sleepers - cannot have enough of these in all sizes!! 3. Cloth diapers - I use 'em for everything except as diapers!! 4. Pack & Play - I have Graco 5. Swing (def. open top as Phyl said) - I have Graco 6. I love my Graco SnugRide Car seat - but once he's too big for that we are going for the Britax 7. The Ultimate Crib Sheet (that's its name) - makes changing a wet top sheet easy - no need to change the actual sheet! 8. Halo sleep sack - love this so that you don't have to worry about blankets over baby's face yet he stays nice and comfy!!
Have FUN! Baby shopping is sooo fun!!

I did research on amazon.com and a few other baby sites before I registered. Universally every mom loves their Boppy pillow.
Strollers are VERY hard to pick out on line. You have to really try them yourself. I registered for a Graco Metrolite set and a Graco snugride car seat.
Fischer Price Ocean Cradle Swing. Fischer Price Kick and Bounce vibrating seat I want a Graco Tot Block pack& play Fischer Price high-chair w/removable tray Britax over 20lb car seat Bassinet
Some people like to stick with everything in one pattern. I decided to do the Best-of-Breed approach instead, even though it drives me nuts they eveything doesn't match perfectly. Again, totally a personal preference.
I would make sure she registers for crib sheets, bassinett sheets (if she is using one), onesie's in small, med, large and x-large, whatever type of bottle set she wants (I am going to use the Playtex nursers), a diaper bag, baby grooming kit, baby monitor, blankets, hodded towels/wash clothes, baby bath tub, any home safety stuff she thinks is needed for her home. And there is always the babys bedding set, if she finds one she likes at that store and tons of other little things.

If she's having a winter baby, definitely get the infant seat cover (goes over any snap in car seat)! This was the best ever -- no snowsuits at all!
If she's bottle feeding, register for a small variety of bottles, rather than invest in a whole system. I did (Avent), sterilizer, bottles, nipples, the whole thing and of course in my nesting mode I washed all of them. They are now in a box somewhere because Ryan couldn't drink out of them! We had to switch to Platex (which are great).
