since you have been engaged and plannning your wedding do you find yourself picking apart weddings you attend??
i went to one wedding recently 2 weeks ago and it was amazing!!!!! can not say anything bad or close to bad about it...truly amazing
but i went to a wedding two months ago and it was horrible and horrible because the cocktail stattions ran out of food 1/2hr into the cocktail hour... there where only 2 choices for dinner and the waitstaff only knew it was chicken or beef the cookies at the end of the night were still froozen (no vienese hour which is fine) they rushed through all the special dances they didnt even cut the cake i felt so bad that i noticed the things that everyone else probably didnt
does anyone else do this???

Yes FH and I have been to 3 weddings in the last 2 months and the first 2 were SO GREAT. Nothing bad to say about either. But the last one was FHs cousins and omg we were miserable sitting there. Barely any food at the cocktail hour and the band was horrendous and the bride and groom kept leaving the room. no one could find them all night lol we didn't enjoy ourselves at all

yeah i look at what works and what doesn't or how i would like to do something a bit different...weve been to about 5 or 6 weddings since weve been engaged

i always looked at the details, but definitely since FH and I started talking about marriage and looking at rings, which was the beginning of 2007. I can't say i've picked them apart, but i definitely pay attention to things and make note of what i like and don't like!

Yes Ive noticed things Ive never noticed before....and realized that if you are engaged...or had a wedding you notice things..but to everyone else blahhh b/c I really never paid attention to anything.....

yeah i didnt pay attention like this before either before i just couldnt wait to get engaged so every wedding was SSSOOO Perfect before.... how things change.....

I did get annoyed that I did not get a thank you card from a wedding I went to last year... so I made FH promise we will write thank you cards on th plane ride to our HM

I havent been to any weddings since we were engaged and only know of one so far before our wedding. It's a non-NY wedding so I'm sure it will be really different.
My friend just went to a wedding a few weeks ago and was telling me some things that were good or not so good, and it's just a whole nother world when it comes to non-NY weddings I guess. I think these would shock me regardless of whether I was planning a wedding though (MOG changing into jeans halfway through the reception and before the mother/son dance; serving cheese ravioli as a 'vegan' dish, etc)

I’m finally going to my first wedding since getting engaged in a few weeks! I don’t think I’ll be picking it apart so much…more like, oh, what can I copy?! Lol Plus I think I’ll appreciate it more since I know how much time and energy goes into these things.

I dont think I have a wedding to attend until my wedd. NOw that Im engaged I will prob be picking everything apart. Before I got engaged I never did that before. I wouldnt pay attention to anything. BUt there are some good and bad things I will remember from past weddings

Me too..... but I get the scoop from my other friends who are going.... granted it's better firsthand, but it's still good info.

Me & Fh and his parents and some of his family went to a wedding a few weeks ago and it was hands down...the WORST wedding any of us has ever been to! We & FILs were like..ours will be soo much better. oh well.
But, I'm a BM in my cousin's wedding in April and I know it will be great. And then we have Fh's cousin's wedding in June right before ours and I know that will be great too.
I'm kind glad mine is last so that I can learn from everyone else's mistakes.
