I brought my ex fiance wedding band and any jewelry from him to my jeweler and used the money towards having my wedding band made

Our jeweler (Marlowe, in Ozone Park and Howard Beach) takes back gold! I think most probably do?

I was watching one of those primetime programs and they had a segment on getting the most money for your gold and they took a bunch of jewelry and first had it appraised and then took them to several different places.
What they found was they got the best offers in city areas (diamond district to be exact) where there is stiff competition. The further away they went from the city (NJ for example), they were lowballed like crazy, sometimes a couple of thousand dollars
