gold rimmed china?

okay, for those of you with gold rimmed china, do you also have gold rimmed crystal? or no rim crystal?

I have platinum rimmed china and crystal. But, I would LOVE to get the holiday ribbon set by Waterford...But, I'm worried that the gold rim china will not look nice with my platinum rimmed crystal...

we also have platimum ringed china. but we have very plain crystal glasses so that we can use them with anything. (we have a black set with a gold rim also)

My formal china has a platinum rim. I was thinking of getting matching crystal but was told that it could rub off over the years. We picked plain crystal instead.

I have gold rimmed china and no rimmed crystal. Personally, I thought the no rim crystal was more elegant.

I inherited my mother's china (she died when I was 8) and it's gold rimmed... very old fashioned... tiny little teacups. I don't care for gold (more of a silver girl) so I picked fairly plain mid-price Waterford goblets. I've been told that if it's gold you either need to do plain or a gold rim around the glasses... your flatware can be silver but the plates and glasses should be gold and silver.

I took my plate to Fortunoff's and they were very helpful in helping me coordinate my flatware and glasses (yes, my Mom had them but my ex-stepmother claims they were 'lost'... yeah, right).
