Golem does not like his snuggle bed anymore

I feel so mean for taking it away, but lately Golem has been biting and chewing at his snuggle bed like it's a big toy, and refuses to sleep on it now! It's wierd, bc he used to sleep on his snuggle bed in the living room all the time. I guess now that he's big enough to pick it up and toss it around, he just wants to play with it and won't sleep on it anymore. Now he prefers sleeping on the floor or rug and he's really content... We took his crate bed away for this very same reason - one night I walked into the kitchen about an hour after we put him in the crate for the nightand I heard all this scuffling from the crate. Well, sure enough - I open the door and he's tearing the bed apart!!!! We had to take it out, and five minutes later he was sleeping soundly! I guess he is just a no frills kind of dog, bc he seems much mroe relaxed and happier sleeping just on the floor of his crate or the tile floors in our house..... I'm not a bad mommy if he likes it that way, right?

Titan did the still does the same thing, I have taken it away and when he is ready for bed I take it out and let him sleep, he does like the rug or hard floor which amazes me,. but he has eaten 2 beds already now we just monitor him with it. I give him alot of bones to chew on so that takes his attention away its all a learning expierence with these dogs lol but its all worth it

Re: Golem does not like his snuggle bed anymore

we should have stock in Nylabone and Greenies with all the chewies we've bought for Golem since we brought him home! He's just still sucha baby, so he's looking at everythign as a toy right now! We've corrected him time and time again, he's just really persistent with teh bed destruction! I tried putting his crate bad back, but that was the same night I caught him eating it instead of sleeping! This pup is nuts, but I love him! As long as it's not a bad thing that he prefers sleeping on the bare floor/rug/crate - we'll just keep it that way. Thanks!
