Ok... soo I ordered my wedding dress a few months ago-- I ordered a size 12. I just went to pick out bridesmaid dresses and at the store they had my dress so I was like what the heck and tried it on-- a size 8! and it fit perfect. After serious dieting and hard work at the gym I am so happy with my body.... but now im worried...Are they going to be able to alter the size 12 to fit and still keep the design of the dress? Ughhh i have been thinking about this alot and its stressing me out!

i would not worry about it.... my store is altering my size 8 down to a size 4! We ordered the 8 bc i need it in the hips, but on top i am a 4 and they said it would be no problem to alter it

They can usually take a dress down 2-3 sizes.
I lost 20 lbs since I ordered, and my bodice is heavily beaded and they said they have no problem taking it in

yeah so far im down 30 pounds and still sheading haha so i was getting super nervous

It also depends on the type of dress it is too... my sister lost sooooo much weight before her wedding... and the seamstress told her to stop because the dress couldnt be altered any further without ruining it...
also brand new dresses fit a bit tighter than a dress thats used in store for people to try on... my brand new 12 dress fit VERY differently than the 12 i tried on in the store!

Cograts on the weight loss!! that's awesome! thye just had to take in FSIL's BM dress 3 sizes and it's perfect! Don't worry they could make you a dress if they had to, so I'm sure they can alter it perfectly

Don't worry about. They will be able to alter it to fit your perfectly. My dress was ordered in a size 10 and after all was said and done was altered to around a 6.

they can def get rid of the extra fabric, specially if the people doing it are good at it, it's much better to take out than put in
