Good experience?

Good experience?

I've read so many negative things about alterations at David's Bridal. Has anyone had a good experience with alterations there? I'm buying my gown from DB and am trying to plan ahead on what to do about alterations. Thanks!

Two of my friends bought their dresses at Davids. One had her alterations done elsewhere (because she wanted CHANGES made to her dress, not just fittings/alterations) and the other had her alterations done at Davids. She had no problems at all.

I got my dress from David's and had Phyllis at bridal elegance do the alterations and make me a bolero jacket.
My cousin had a bad experience at David's with her alterations a few months before so that is why I refused to do alterations there

I am a BM in my MOH's wedding and we bought our dresses there but I will be bringing my dress somewhere else for alterations...

(buying the dress was a great experience)

Actually, the one in Carle Place saved my friend from major disaster. She ordered her dress from the David's by her and they never took into account that she's tall and needed extra length. When the dress came in, without shoes on, it was like 2 inches off of the floor. They told her there was nothing that could be done. On a whim, she went into the one in CP and the seamstress happened to be standing there as she was crying to the manager and she took the dress, cut off the bottom of the sample in the store and sewed it on to the bottom of her dress. You couldn't even tell and she totally saved the day.

ditto. my sister did the same thing, but not by choice. david's completely butchered her dress 2 weeks before her wedding. they couldn't get in a replacement in time so she had to start her dress shopping all over again. the dress was rush ordered, came in 1 week before her wedding and Phyllis saved the day by altering the dress for her on such short notice.

I got my dress at Davids... and I had the same issue... only the floor model fit me perfectly height wise, but when my dress came in, it was way too short... they tried to tell me that the floor model stretched from being on the hanger for so long... riiight!!! so I didn't trust them to do the alterations and found a lady in Staten Island who did an amazing job!!!!
