Re: good florist? and why?
I booked with Flower Barn. I felt VERY comfortable when I met with Mike- he's easy going and not pushy at all. Some of the vendors were very pushy and it completely turned me off. He also wasn't cocky about the work they did. He showed me pictures- I love them. He was very accomodating and also gave great suggestions. Above all, the price was the best we had recieved.

Re: good florist? and why?
I looked at 4 florists and booked Flowers by Burton
I liked the idea that the quote/contract said how many of each item (bok's, butineers, low centerpieces, etc) and I did not have to commit to any specific type of flower. Any flower in season for the same price. Also, if I wanted to add candles, etc that was included in my price. We'll sit down at a future (closer) date to 'design' the centerpieces and such together.
no delivery fee, with our centerpiece, at least, we keep the vases and 'hardware', they will decorate cake, will work with silk flowers if we wanted(but that may change price??), and the # centerpieces in the contract is approx. they gave me an exact price per centerpiece so we can add/subtract when i have a final guest/table count.. no surprises.
Also, she was very helpful on $ saving tips when it came to flowers (i.e. nothing elaborate on the seating card table and use the BOK's to decorate where my FH and I will sit instead of another flower piece). She didn't 'push' anything on us and actually had the opportunity to make more $ off of us, but reasonably talked us out of some of the 'unnecessary' things that other florists insisted on.
They were also the cheapest quote. My FH's mother was a florist and was going to do flowers for us, but it would have cost her just about the same so there was no point in making her do the work.
Hope this helps

Re: good florist? and why?
Honestly with all the vendors, I tried not to go just by price, I wanted someone who I felt comfortable with and who really understood my vision. I love my florist, he is extremely accomodating and just over the top which i love. I'm using Richard from Perfect Wedding Planner Florals
