good intentions

I had good intentions when I posted about getting a family member or friend to perform a ceremony, but it was taken off the site?? I am an atheist and was not brought up with a church or a clergy man that I am close to. I am sort of 'jealous' when I go to brides and the minister says that he has known the bride since she was born. My intentions of my post was to tell people how I was going to replicate that. Just shows you how big brother is watching...I'm sorry if I have offended anyone.

good intentions

I thought it was a good idea, Like on the Friends wedding when Joey married Monica and Chandler. I don't see it any different than a justice of peace but it will be someone special in your like making a union between you and your husband

good intentions

At my first wedding I had the minister of my church at that time officiate. He had known me for 17 years and still managed to screw up both my name, which is pretty easy, and my ex's(he called him Louis throughout the entire ceremony even though his name is Al). When I mentioned it to him after the ceremony, he laughed and said 'Oh well..mistakes happen.' I was really upset and felt as if my wedding was less than important to him. This time around I am using someone that both my fiance and I really like and who really seems to care about making our day special. That is all you can ask for. So don't feel too bad that you don't have a special relationship with a clergy member. It doesn't guarantee a great ceremony.
