FYI - It's pretty safe on this site. I have only had one little mishap with a vendor, that was totally innocent on both parts.
All the girls on this site are very nice and very helpful.
I personally just try to stay away from negative things and I try not to post any negative comments about vendors unless someone asks specifically and even then I usually send FM, which I think a lot of others do too.
It's not a big deal to post who you are using, but maybe not give out TOO much info (like pricing and whatnot) since that can vary from person to person).

Congrats on booking your hall! You're getting married the week before me!!!

I really don't think there is anyway someone could get on here and cancel your vendors - there would be things to be signed and I'm sure you would have to come in and talk to someone. You should be able to come on here and get excited about talking about your vendors with other girls!

That being said, I try not to post too personal of information on here and FH doesn't want lots of pictures up, which is fine.

I know its not funny, but I'm actually laughing at the thought of someone taking the time and making the effort to track down someone's vendors and sabotage their wedding
I'm sure it happens but when you think about it, it's pretty sad that anyone would be that cruel. Very bad Karma !!

I think for some people its not fear of someone messing with their vendors - its more the privacy thing. Like in my case - our families have some crazy ex-sister-in-laws (mothers of the FG & RB) and we dont want them showing up at the church or hall.

i know and thats fine, not saying anything about it. But in her first post she said people have warned her not to post vendors and this is what her fear is, thats why a couple of us commented on the RH cancelling thing since its the point the OP brought up, not about privacy issues. Just wanted tolet her know that she shouldn't feel so afraid. As long as real person info isn't given out then it should be fine

plus i have most of my vendors for over a year now so they know us by now lol. But for example when i call JT to speak to our BM, the receptionist isn't gonna know me by voice or anything like that so i have to give her my first name, last name and wedding date. Plus they're gonna have to pull off a strong queens accent, for either of us hahaha...then they're screwed when they have to come in and sign stuff.

I hear ya - its not so easy for someone to call and cancel something - but i think its possible for someone to change things and mess things up. Im not trying to scare anyone - but i thinks its important to be smart about what you do. Its easy to have your guard down - especailly this site cause everyone so nice

I hear ya - its not so easy for someone to call and cancel something - but i think its possible for someone to change things and mess things up. Im not trying to scare anyone - but i thinks its important to be smart about what you do. Its easy to have your guard down - especailly this site cause everyone so nice

i agree,thats why i dont think ppl should post personal info such as last names and things of that nature, here on the boards. But if anybody is nervous then talk to your vendors and ask them about how this works and im sure you'll feel alot safer.

um i dont think they can because you only put it in your account info for example when you click on my name it will only show you what i put in next to bride, groom, maid of honor, best man etc and i dont know if i have my last name but i do have my last name under my account but i dont think you need to have it just an FYI haha

some people do some people dont................Its a matter of wether you want everyone to know who youre using. The internet regardless of where you post is not always 100% safe from wacky people that can cause you trouble. Some brides like to keep their stuff private for teh most part just to be on the safe side.
