I just called my church and the receptionist told me that only one of us would have had to made our communion and comformation in order to get married int he church. Which means .....:::::Drum roll:::: We can get married in the church if we choose
Now with that said and if I speak with FH and he decided on that. How much do you normally have to 'donate' and do you have to pay for pre-cana? And what the heck is foccus? I know its alot but you love me and love my questions

Our church asks for a $450 donation, plus $125 each for both the organist and the singer (who you have to pay even if you don’t use them.)
Not all churches require you to take the FOCCUS test, ours doesn’t. We haven’t taken precana yet, but I *think* it’s about $90, I could be wrong about that though.

My church is $650 which includes the organist. You have to pay $35 for precana but it's credited to the $650. The didn't mention FOCCUS to us yet so I don't know if we have to do it.

We had to donate $750 to my church.. Precana was expensive at my church.. I think about $250 but I ended up going somewhere else that was free. Foccus is a test you take.. its really simple and easy and was $50.

We are in Queens (which is the Brooklyn Diocese) and the Brooklyn Diocese does not do FOCUS.

Wow, all your fees are so reasonable compared to ours. We have to pay at least 850, 575 stewardship, 150 for the rehearsal coordinator who is also the organist, 75 for the canter and 50 for the caretaker...if things run late, we have to pay the canter and caretaker and organist extra, and that also doesn't include anything that we may or may not want to give the priest to use for discretionary funds for the outreach programs, etc. So after all is said and done, 900 dollars
