GOOD NEWS!!!! (NWR at all)

i know this has nothing to do with weddings but its great news for me so i had to share.. im not a LIF-er yet although i go and lurke(sp) around.. but anyway.. in school we were talking about blood types and Rh factors all this stuff ...

i happen to have a trait called (dont mind my spelling) Thalesemia Anemia.. im just a trait carrier but if my FH also was a trait carried we would have dificulties having babies since 2 traits can = disease and this disease = death according the doctors... so ive really been putting it off telling myself that no matter what it doesnt matter cuz i love my FH no matter what!! but since i was a little girl i just cant wait to have my own!! so after this chat in class i dragged FH to my job (doctors office) and drew his blood so i could finally get my answer and well....

HES NEGATIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im sooo happy i cant even explain it to you!!! this is GREAT NEWS!!! i cant wait to celebrate!! (if ya know what i mean)

thanks girls it seems so silly to do it so far in advance but i just needed to know!! hahaha and i really want to TTC ASAP so i guess the sooner the better !!! my mom rolled her eyes when i told her!

it is NOT too early - i already had a pre TTC GYN appt!! I wanted to know if there was anything i should be doing and I was just told to start prenatals a few months before starting TTC. . .mind you i am not trying until we are married one/two years married but i got THAT out of the way already!

that's great news! How did you know you had that disease and are there any symptoms or it just a genetic trait you dont' know you carry until you're tested? I've had my gyno check me out too because I'm so scared about not being able to have kids.

well thats where my paranoia comes in i have always dreamed of being a mom and that's why it was so hard for me to pick a career cuz all i wanted to do was be a mom ... when i was about 10 they found that i had the trait cuz they thought i had mono. in the winter i get very tired and worn out quickly i also get slightly depressed in the winter from not having any sun exposure (theres a realy name for that)... so my peditricians children 3 out of 5 actually are also carrieres of this trait so she told my mom at the time that i was showing some of the same symptoms as her children and sure enough it showed up. its usually only found in people of mediteranian (sorry i cant spell) decent. and they will not find it unless they are looking for it. its not harmfull unless you have thalesemia major or minor and there are all kinds of symptoms everyons different.. if you have the trait it means its not really active its a recessive trait (im pretty sure) but i was told many times that if FH also had it we would be unable to have children of our own. they can find it with a simple blood test but they have to be looking for it.

thanks!! its really simple we had the results back in a couple of days! i would only recomend doing it if yo have a family history of anything other wise you should be ok
