Good News or Bad News??

Good News or Bad News??

Just talked to Debi, who's enroute home from NY, on a train; Fred is still there on business. They had their CLM appt. today. Deb saw Jennifer/nifheim, but didn't want to interrupt, because 'she looked busy.' Loved her gown and flowers though!! Ok, so Deb and Fred were told there will be NO pre ceremony practice!! Before, there was suppose to be a practice right before the ceremony. A list of the BP will be given to someone at CLM, who will tell the participants when to walk down the aisle. This makes me very uneasy!! Mary MOB

from what i know, most RH's when you have a ceremony there dont do rehearsals. Some will do a quick run through for just a few minutes right before the ceremony, they will be fine

Honestly, they will be ok. I have been in a few weddings and only 2 had rehearsals the night before. They others usually do a quick run through right before the ceremony. they will line you up in the order you are walking out and briefly tell you where to go when you get to the alter. It's not difficult to do. I'm getting married at the RH and am not planning any kind of rehearsal right before. They will be fine!

deb dont freak out

it will be fine

they line you up about 20 minutes before and nick tells you what to do..it will be fine and nothing will happen..he coordinates with the dj or musicians so everything will be seamless and you will not notice a thing and nobody else wil either

i was nervous about this too..but you gotta think these people do this every weekend..we only do it for one day..take their word..it will be fine

I was in a garden wedding that was rained out. Plan B was inside the RH but the bride didn't think we needed to rehearse the layout or entrance for plan B which was very different. You know what? It turned out just fine. You can always have the BP practice the day before at the bride's house. Use the backyard -- lay down some ribbon to define the 'aisle'. It'll turn out fine.

On the recessional, Debi wants to know what order the FG and RB walk out. She thought perhaps the BP kids sit with their parents, and walk out with them?? When does Pastor exit? Mary MOB

So, the children do exit with the BP? Where are they seated for the ceremony? In front row, or with parents? If with parents, are they suppose to then, get up and follow out with the BP? Sorry if I sound like an idiot. Mary MOB

Re: Good News or Bad News??

im pretty sure they stood up with the bridal party at mine..but it is common to have them at the end ( farthest from the aisle ) in the front row if they are too jittery to stand

i do know that my 3yr old neice was standing..then decided to it and then got up and asked my sister ( MOH ) really loud for gum..it was so funny

you can always have a pre-rehearsal some where else the night before

Yes I think that might be a good idea to do a quick run through on their own. At least they could do the 'order' so the BP is aware of who is first, and who follows who.

I'm sure it will be fine

Don't worry it will be fine. I have been in a wedding where there was no rehersal prior to it and everything went smoothly. I agree though with the idea that if you are worried have a rehersal the night before. FH was the best man in a wedding this fall and they did the rehearsal at the same place they were doing the rehersal dinner...right in the hotel. Everything worked out fine.

we are just going over things real quick about 20 minutes or so before with our officiant.

honestly - the only rehearsal you need is the one RIGHT before the ceremony....anything you do ahead of time will be forgotten :)

Jess, Debi was supposed to have had one right before the ceremony, but it was canceled. I think the adults will be ok, but hope the children don't have a problem, doing something they're not familiar with. Mary MOB

Re: Good News or Bad News??

we arent doing a rehearsal either ...my BM said they usually do not do it

i honestly think its because they do not want to be bothered ..but most of the people in our wedding have been in other weddings recently
im sure they can handle it
