Im already getting emails from vendors... how do you sort thru all the hype and get to the down n dirty truth: am I getting a good vendor???
I have time... altho some have said I need to get going already!
Am hoping to find vendors I might not else find or atleast get pricing I wouldnt else get? Who has had success? Do you mind sharing?
I envision a contemporary wedding; 200 or so guests...but trying to be realistic with this crazy economy...blah.
anyone?

Re: good prices? good service?
LIW is probably your best resource. I used this site to help sort through all the vendors. I read reviews, got opinions, and even got price ranges. Did you pick your RH yet? I would def. make that your first major vendor to look into!!

Re: good prices? good service?
why do you want a raw space? money wise or just because that´s what you like? i only ask because I am on a really tight budget and have found places willing to work with you on prices. (and I want to only guarantee 50 people so it´s been a little tricky)
if you just want raw space because that´s what you like i´m not sure about one in li but if you´re willing to go to nj i have heard about an old Lowes theatre. they still do classic fills but they also rent out their space. from what i hear it´s beautiful. if i hear of any on li i will post.

Re: good prices? good service?
thank you weddinggem...
looking for raw space or a space that can be easily transformed! Not looking to spend an arm/leg on drapery etc to achieve a clean palette.... but maybe I should look into that option anyway...

Re: good prices? good service?
I just reread what I wrote and realize I wan´t very clear. (sorry). The part where i talked about places willing to work with you was RH. We found a few people willing to work with out budget (under $75 max including tax and gratuity). I went that route because it would be easire to plan for me having everything in one place. )i´m in south america so i need it to be as easy as possible)
As for spaces to rent here is the link to lowes: http://loewsjersey.org/content/view/28/30/
I was asking around and I´ve been told that there are mansions that you could rent on long island. However, noone remembers the names. I think I saw some posting about that here too. Maybe one of the girls on this site could help.
If you want info on the Reception Halls let me know.

Definitely look at The Bride's Review on this site. It is so helpful!
