Good Seafood Restaurants on Long Island?

I grew up in Maine where we never had a shortage of good seafood restaurants. I find that LI has very few GOOD ones. Can you recommend any?

My friend waitresses at Legal Seafood right by the Walt Whitman Mall. I always hear people raving about that place, but I HATE HATE HATE seafood, so I have no firsthand experience.

There's always Red Lobster!!! (LoL- )

Where are you?

There's the Sea Basin in Rocky Point and Lobster Roll out in Riverhead/Calverton area.

And then there's Land and Sea in Mt Sinai...the place has zero atmosphere, but it's so good! They have a lobster bake special where you get a big bowl of mussels in garlic and white wine, and a boiled lobster with corn on the cob and pasta or potato all for $12.95. It's so simple and so good!!! They have other stuff too, but i always get the lobster

The Steam Room or Docksides in Port Jeff.

I don't like Land & Sea in Mt. Sinai (they have fly paper with dead flys hanging from the ceiling- GROSS)...and the Dockside really isnt very good anymore...I used to like them...

I'm out east at exit 66...but it's my birthday so we're willing to travel! Thanks for all the ideas!!

Riverbay in Williston Park
and
The Jolly Fisherman in Roslyn

Jolly Fisherman is my in-laws diner...we used to go there every Fri. night for a long time...the lobsters are great --
Be prepared for an older crowd but the food is consistent and always good...

Southside in Lindenhurst if you like to get into your food

Riverbay is going to be your best bet. Legal Seafood at Roosevelt field is pretty good - not quite as good as Riverbay though. Jolly fisherman is also good.

Coolfish has some great seafood on their menu as well.

Popeis Clam Bar in Wantagh on Wantagh Ave. They might be a chain and also in Coram, Smithtown and Sayville. Absolutely the best seafood ever. Better than Legal Seafood I think.

I agree on the Jolly, I personally have had more than one bad meal at Riverbay.
