Good thoughts for my dad

Good thoughts for my dad

I am asking the the LIW good vibes for my dad. He has a rare skin disease called Mycosis Fungoides. Its a cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and he has had it for about 15 years. it has been kept in check with this certain medicine that he uses, but now his insurace comp has stopped covering it. If he has to pay for this medicine it will cost almost $6000.00 a month. He has been fighting with the insurance company and they keep turning him down. As soon as he stops using this medicine it start reappearing right away. I am so afraid if he cant get this covered that this will start to turn into tumors.

So I am asking ladies, please send your good vibes that the insurance comp will have it in their heart to start covering him again.

Re: Good thoughts for my dad

I'm really sorry he's going through this...

I did a legal internship for the MEdicare Rights Center in NYC. They are a non profit and have a hotline where anyone nationwide with medicare can get free information or advocacy help.

You can call on his behalf or he can call himself. 1-800-333-4114

I've seen wonderful things happen because of their advocacy... the ins companye's don't always follow the regulations properly. I even personally won a beneficiary's hearing where he was able to regain $5000 in past out of pocket costs and prospective coverage for his meds. Call them and see if they can help you

ETA, they're espcially helpful in guiding people through the convoluded appeals process and helping to make the appeals more effective. If you have any questions, let me know
