Re: Goodbye Krappy Kitchen

Thanks everyone :D

Allure: Pottery Barn

RichsBride: Good tip. We arent there yet (still in the early phases) but I will ask him to do that if he doesnt automatically.

Update for today: We uncovered the back wall and the brick is a complete mess. So there is no chance that I can have the exposed brick I want unless we spend a fortune restoring/rebuilding that wall. Oh well..sort of sad b/c I wuv exposed brick but life goes on. We also found out we need to lose a few inches on each side b/c when they took the sheetrock down tehy realized that there was no framing at all! Grrrr. Old houses.

Re: Goodbye Krappy Kitchen

Update for this week.

The new plumbing has been installed, electrical done, sheetrock is up, the new windows are in, a couple cabinets are installed.

Problem with cabinet company (they suck!) has held us up for a few days but Im keeping my fingers crossed that its the last problem we have.

I think we have picked our granite

Madura Gold (anyone have this? I'd love to see this installed in a kitchen b/c im not sure about it)

Undercab lighting (what a pain this was)

Xenon pucks in chrome

A sink

to go with the faucet we already bought

OMG, I love that faucet. We ended up with the Moen detachable one for the kitchen but we are getting it for the bathroom because we LOVE the look of it.

Re: Goodbye Krappy Kitchen

Thanks everyone.

Jan: I really wanted the pull out spray kind but my husband thinks those break faster. (why he thinks that, i will never know)..so we got this one with the seperate sprayer. Its a little weird looking for me...sort of like an elephants trunk..but its growing on me :D

Re: Goodbye Krappy Kitchen

Just an idea for you...My sister just put in a Hot water faucet on her sink. They just remodeled her house. Now instead of boiling water for tea or soup or anything...All she has to do is goto the faucet and boiling water comes out. It is awesome.

Re: Goodbye Krappy Kitchen

Thanks Danielle. We dont really boil water very often unless we are cooking (so we need to boil it on the stove anyway)..but that is very cool for someone who drinks a lot of tea :D
