My uncles is a preist in NJ and I wanted him to do our ceremony for the wedding. The problem is I was 99%sure he wouldn't do it because we aren't getting married in the church. Well I spoke with him last night and he told me that I can go to his church in NJ this summer and recieve the sacrament and he will Marry us so we are recgonized by the church and then when we have our wedding ceremony with everyone he will do it say a blessing and let us say our VOWS. He was trying to talk me into changing my date so we would just get married in a church instead of the hall but that wasn't going to happen so this works out.

The church doesn't recognize marriage unless it is done in a church so Most priests will NOT marry you outside the church. I really want my uncle to be part of my ceremony that day so I agreed to have him marry us at his church and then the day of the wedding we will walk down the aisle to each other and say the Vows we write for ourselves. We can't get married in the church because the day and time we are getting married.
