They told me 3-4 months. I ordered it on a Sat and that Friday it was in. I think they tell you way longer just to be safe. But DM dresses much longer. I was told they would take weeks and be in the Sat after my wedding. Um thats not good so we had to use another dress and store.

Dont worry, same thing happened to me.
David's is like a Department Store, they have tons of the same dress, once you order, they ship.
Mine came in 2 weeks, I just asked for them to change it cause it was too big and they told me it will be in on June 2nd or so.
I am expecting and hoping it will be here sooner.

Yeah autumn! I HAVE A DRESS TWIN! Don't worry about the early delivery. I picked up my dress from David's Bridal since November and it's still in top shape. YEAH A DRESS TWIN!

Yes, put it in a garment bag - not the cheap one they give you there, unless you bought the better one - and leave it unzipped a bit at the top. Then, wrap a sheet around it. Not sure why you need to do this, but that's what they said to do. I have mine in my mom's closet, at her house.

That's exactly what I was told and what I did too. I ordered my dress from David's around November middle of November, was told it would come in sometime in January, and I got a call at the end of November that it was in!! Picked it up on Dec 2nd. It's hanging in my closet, wrapped up loosely in a 100% cotton white sheet, and placed into the garment bag w/ the zipper open about 6 inches.
My consultant told me to take it out and rewrap it every month or so, just to let it breathe so it doesn't 'age' and yellow. So far, so good!
It's important that the sheet be 100% cotton and free from any dyes so that it doesn't stain your beautiful dress!

I thought at David's you buy the dress right from the store. They told me they only order it if something is really wrong with the sample.

Maybe that's true for some of their stores. I'm not sure, but here's my story.....
I was able to order my dress and have a new one shipped from the factory b/c there was no way I was going to pay that much $$ and have a dress with loose beading and frayed lace on the train!
Because of timing w/ family, I ordered my dress when my consultant wasn't there. I had them put it under her name so she'd receive credit/commission for the sale b/c she was soooo helpful!! But at first, the consultant who worked with me that day wanted me to take the sample dress, since it was a perfect fit. I pointed out the frayed lace edging and she said they could fix that in alterations. Pretty much it was like, why order the dress when there's one right here in your size? She didn't think the store would do it. Trust me, I would've raised hell if they didn't! I LOVE my dress and didn't want to go somewhere else. So instead, I was polite but insistent. I said I've had a great experience w/ David's in the past, would like to keep it that way, and I'm ordering a brand new dress. Sure enough a few wks later, my dress was delivered, all brand new.
I always try to write short answers on LIW and then wind up writing a book! Sorry!

Mine was the same. I pulled it from the store about two weeks after they called me. It's at my parents. I was afraid if I left it there they may give it to someone on mistake. Probably just paranoia. LOL.
