Got an invite to a wedding today....

and umm... well.... it was addressed to me AND GUEST
um hi.. news flash, im engaged.. did this person not get my STD with BOTH OUR NAMES WRITTEN OUT!?!??! I personally didnt care but FH kinda got insulted. I feel bad. This is someone thats close enough to me to know that FH and I LIVE TOGETHER and are getting married in SEPTEMBER....

GUEST!!?!??!!??!? OMG WHO DOES THAT?!?!?!? ok done venting

Moral of the story... more girls need LIW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is wrong with people??? I don't know about you but I have taken the time to find out the names of my friends signigicant others/fiances. Why can't others do the same?

Me too! That's pretty annoying. I got invited to a wedding last year when we were engaged already for 3 months and had been dating for 2 1/5... i was the AND GUEST.

That's ok. I was the 'guest' at the wedding my FH was the best man. I thought that if I send the reply back with my name on it then the placecard would have my name. Keep in mind we know them really really well. Nope. I was still 'guest' on the placecard. Very rude!
Granted we weren't engaged yet, but we'd been dating over three years. I highly doubt he was going to bring a different 'guest.'

You're right to be pissed though.

That's horrible!

My DH was a GM in his friend's wedding. The invitation only had DH's name on it! Not even and guest! It made me feel so bad I made him call them up to check and they said 'Of course! We have you both already down as coming.'

Now how would I know that if I wasn't on the invite?!?!??

You know it's funny, I had to drop my envelopes off at the calligrapher last week, so I had FH call one of his GM. See, he moved to Atlanta 1 year ago to get his masters, and started dating a girl down there soon thereafter. We haven't met her yet, and I wasn't sure of her name, but he acts totally serious about her. So I have FH call and ask her name for the invite, and he told us to write 'and guest'! Poor girl.

I got a wedding invite yesterday to FH's cousin's wedding, but they remembered to include my name Imagine if they put '& Guest' Id gt pissed since he is a GM in our wedding!

My best friend from high school, a woman who is in my BP, and knows DF wrote 'and guest' for him to her engagement party invite. She will be in my wedding 3 months later. I was upset that she did that to DF.
He was ok with it though. On the other side, we were invited to a wedding by one of DF's friends and were already engaged but they wrote 'and guest' for me. I was upset.

The same thing happened to me (FH cousin) with the placecard but we were already engaged and living together and had been dating longer than the bride and groom knew each other. Know what made the matter worse: when I got the Thank You, it was addressed to Mr. & Mrs. XXXX as if we were married all of a sudden! Some people just don't take the time to be courteous!

OK, wanna laugh?! My Fh's grandma sent him a card for Hanukah and it said 'say hello to your friend for me'!!! We've been dating for over 3 years at this point - and my FMIL talks about us all the time - but she couldn't remember my name or ask FMIL what it was. lol

I was the laughing stock of the holidays - everyone called me And Friend

OMG! That is absolutely HYSTERICAL!!!! That's SOOO something that would happen in my family.

FH had a lot of weddings to go to pretty soon after we started dating. I thought it was so sweet when people put my name on the invite. I definitely remember the people who did that for us (as being really nice) so I will be sure to do it for other people.

At this point, with us being engaged, I would not go to a wedding if someone put 'and guest.' If they need my name, they could look up FH on weddingchannel and get my name off there!!
