Got our marriage license

We have 43 days to go and already got our marriage license! We went to the Town Clerks office in Hempstead Long Island. It was the simplest thing. We got there and there was no line. We stayed a maximum of 15 minutes! They charge only $25 (compared to $30 in Manhattan) and accept cash. They even give you the forms for social security and drivers license if you plan on change your last name and address. We also got a gift which had paper towel, sample packets of detergents and tissue!

This is the thing that is stressing me most. We live out of state so we can't get the license until we come up there for the wedding a couple of days before. YIKES! It's great to know they accept cash. Is that the case with all town clerk offices on LI? WE are actually driving up to LI this weekend for my bridal shower but we are more than 60 days away so we can't get it yet. And there's only one more trip planned before the wedding and it will only be me. OH well. Glad to hear you had a good experience.
