Well my knee is pretty bad. I have something called congia malasia ( sp?) pretty much the bottom of my knee cap is soft and it is off track. in stead of being in the center of my knee its off to the side. I also have wear and tear on the cartilage from not taking care of it earlier. So we are gonna try therapy and if that doesnt work ill have to get kicroscopic surgery. I honestly dont think its gonna work because therapy didnt work last time :( i have the doc on tuesday I am out of work until then. That day we will work out the game plan. Just what i need right now with the wedding comming up! I need the $$ and i been out of work almost 2 weeks already but at least we will get this fixed one way or another.

So sorry to hear that.. my mom had something very similar to that.. and had outpatient surgery. She healed pretty quickly.. even though she was stubborn and only stayed off of it for like a day and half!!

I am sorry. FH had something similar with his knee that he needs to get surgery for soon. Sometimes his knee just gives out on him out of no where. Good luck with the doctors and keep us updated on what he says.

i have condromalasia also ... its a pain in the a$$ but there are many things you can do to help it ..
(also I was an athletic trainer for many years for I have worked with dozens of athletes with chondromalasia)
therapy might help, taping and a brace will deff help! The key is trying to keep the patella or knee cap in place so it doesnt move around. They can also go in arthroscopicly and clean out the frayed part of the under side of the patella and that WILL help!
dont stress too much, i know its a pain but help is on the way! If it hurts, ice it! Try the brace (they have many different varieties so google patella brace or chondomalasia brace!

Sorry to hear about it. I'm glad they are trying to take care of it though. Don't stress, it will be okay. How long will it take for you to recuperate? MY FI had knee surgery and it took a while. They'll say you'll be up in no time, but it does take a little longer than expected.

You poor thing!! I feel your pain! I have two turned out knee caps and the right one never acts up, but the left one is a PITA. It blows up with fluid constantly and my next step is physical therapy, but if that doesn't work, they are saying surgery for me too... We can be broken knee twins...

I have that as well. I've had it for over 7 years now. I've been to physical therapy several times & I had my knee cap dislocate several times. I never had surgery. I've been doing better the last couple of years, but my knee still hurts pretty often. I hope therapy helps.

Aw I am soo sorry!!! Does your knees making a cracking noise when you go up and down the stairs??? I know I have something wrong with the plates in my knee they slide or something I was supposed to continually go for physical therapy but I don't and My knees crack when I go up and down stairs and hurt if I kneel on them. I should go get them rechecked after the baby is born when i get my arm rechecked.
I hope you feel better though :( and you don't need surgey.

I'm so sorry to hear that....that sounds very painful I know from dance I've definitely over-use and abuse my knees they can hurt alot sometimes.

Sorry to hear that Hopefully the therapy works and if not the surgery definitely will right?? Hope you feel better. The Vicodin will definitely do its job
