My mother in law just came home from work and was right out the door, to apply for a government loan thanks to the Flood in October with that 12 days straight of rain. We live in East Rockaway where inlets and the Atlantic and are all over our town. We had a lot of rain, and major flood damage in our basement. I'm curious to find out if anyone else have heard about this program. The applications are being taken at Eisenhower Park today until 5pm. My wife's uncle went earlier today to apply, and said that the staff taking the applications said that NO ONE is applying. They also said that there is 80+ million in government aid available. He was told that you could qualify for up to $80,000 per household dependent on what your house is worth and if you are in a flood zone I guess, @ a 2% INTEREST RATE!!!!!!
TWO PERCENT!!!!????? with payments up to 30 years.
As anyone heard of this, or do we need to rise up and blame this administration for not letting the public know about this program? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...
