Re: gown help please
im a double d and i hate wearing hapter because it hurts my neck
personally, i didnt like teh way a strapless looked on me because i have wide shoulders not so much because of my boobs. i ended up getting a spaghetti strap
definitely try on all types and see what you are most comfortable in - remember your wedding dress is tailored to fit you perfectly good luck!

Re: gown help please
Personally, if you have big boobs (which I do - 34DD) I think the halter makes them look bigger. Don't be afraid of trying different gowns and seeing what suits your body type best.
Good luck in your quest.

I am also a 36D and although strapless dresses are nice, i really dont want to spend allnight lifting my dress...theres other styles too besides halter you can do

I had the same problem and ended up going with a strapless. My first dress was a halter and when it came in and I tried it on, I hated it because my 'girls' were up to my chin
I got a strapless dress with boning in it so it stays up well.
I would try different styles on and see what is best for your body type.

I too am a D (34). I am wearing a halter, so I don't pull on the d a m n thing all night, JMO. here's my dress.
I am a 36D(D). I bought a strapless and love it. I did find one that curves up at the neckline and appears to be straight accross at the 'ladies'. Don't let ppl discourage you.

I have a chest too and it's amazing what they can do with undergarments/alterations. You'll be ok whichever way you go!!

Re: gown help please
I love strapless dress (the way they look) but personally they are not for me either. I wear a size 32DD and out of all the dresses I tried on, I liked the halter look and my dress the best.
I have posted a link to my dress.
I also have noticed in some wedding videos that I have seen a lot of brides pulling up their strapless gowns and I think that is tacky. I like to feel secure and do not want to worry about anything like that.
My bf is about the same size and we both think that a square neckline looks best. SOemtimes when she does that halter thing it makes her look even bigger.

My boobs are the same size and i got strapless. It is not cut lower and I was completely comfortable. I would try on all types and find what you are most comfortable in. Good luck!

Re: gown help please
I'm a 36 D too, and generally stay away from halters because I think they make my boobs look bigger, and I'm really self-conscious about that. That's not what I want people to be looking at at my wedding! I'm not sure about strapless - I was afraid I'd be yanking it up all night, but I think if it's altered right (with the 'boning' in the right place and all), it should fit perfectly and you wouldn't have to.

I'm a 36 D too, but I got a strapless dress and I loved it!!! If you have the right bra - you will be fine. So get the dress you want. Don't get the dress you think you should wear.
My dress was really heavy - the train and a front panel were beaded, but I never pulled it up once. The seamstress used snaps to attach my bra to the dress. I had a 'long line' bra with bones in it. I got it from a place in patchogue - I think it was called Blums.

Re: gown help please
We just had this while trying on potential bm dresses and one of my bigger girls suggested, since a halter can hurt, putting snaps on the strapless bra and on the dress to match so that they are connected..she said she has done this several times and does not play the pickup game all night..good luck!

Re: gown help please
that's a good idea re: the snaps. My 'girls' are small, lol..but we velcroed my bra to my dress to keep it from moving and it worked really well
