There is a lot in the $1,000-$2,000 range. Unless you want pure silk, you can easily find something in this range. Under $1,000 may require some shopping around but I have seen girls (on here) get beautiful dresses for less than $1,000.
I am about to order my Maggie Sottero dress and it is gonna cost me $1200.....
I paid $800 for mine but it does not include alterations, but I do not think I will need many, just a little hemming.

Maggie Sottero 1200.00 But with all the extras HTH alterations and busterls 1600.00
My dress is Moonlight Couture and it was $1200...it is silk organza w/swarovski crystals...
