Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and in Massapequa have a great selection in gowns as well as bridesmaid dresses.

It's not on LI -- but you should give Kleinfelds a try!! it was the best expereince!!

It depends what you want, budget-wise. Kleinfeld's and Bridal Reflections have wonderful selections, but they're at the pricey end. RK Bridal in Manhattan has a LOT of dresses, but cheaper lines, and their ambiance is a bit lacking. If you don't care about drapes and plush couches, they're a good choice. I went there to try on gowns. It was good because I had done a lot of looking online and in magazines and had a lot of specific dresses I wanted to try on. If you have no idea, a fuller-service salon is better. I bought my gown from the Commack Wedding Center because they had the best price by far. They've been nothing but nice to me, although I've heard unfortunate things about their service here on LIW, especially for alterations. But I'm not doing mine there, I don't think.

Here's a quick tip to keep in mind when purchasing a dress - Shop around for the best price, because salons will always try to outsell each other.

I found my dress at a store in Farmingdale (can't remember the name), got a price from them - then called around and ended up ordering it from Burton's! They didn't have it in store, but they ordered it from the manufacturer - at about $100 less then the place I found it at!

I also agree lillettes was great. I 2nd both kleinfelds and RK bridal. Both had a huge selection.
