GOWN TIP WHEN PURCHASING

OKAY SO I LEARNED THE HARD WAY.....IF YOU HAVENT PURCHASED YOUR GOWN AND YOU KNOW THAT YOUR GOING TO LOSS WEIGHT DONT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO A BIGGER SIZE THAN THE SIZE THAT YOU ALREADY ARE AND KNOW THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET SMALLER.....WHEN I BROUGHT MY DRESS I WAS A SIZE 10/12 AND THE DRESS I TRIED ON WAS A 10 AND A LITTLE TIGHT.....NOT TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE AMOUNT OF TIMES THAT PARTICULAR DRESS WAS TRIED ON AND HANGING AROUND OR THE FACT THAT I WAS PLANNING ON GOING DOWN TO A SIZE 8 SO THE WOMAN SAID OH YOU WILL NEED A 12 THEN IT COULD BE FIXED.....STUPID ME (BUT I DIDNT KNOW) SAID OKAY......FINDING OUT LATER THAT MY ALTERATIONS WERE NOT CAPPED AT A CERTAIN PRICE.....WHEN THE DRESS CAME AND I TRIED IT ON IT WAS OFF THE CHAIN AND TOOOOOOOOO BIG JUST ABOUT 2.5 SIZES

SO BEWARE OF THE INCREASE THE SIZE AND PRICE BRIDAL GOWN SELLERS........ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS NOT CAPPED.

Re: GOWN TIP WHEN PURCHASING

I hear ya. When I bought my gown, the size 16 was a bit tight, but it zipped. The size 18 was loose. I had put on some weight but was planning on losing it (and I have lost some, but not all of it.) They of course wanted me to order the 18, which I found annoying. It would be one thing if the 16 didn't zip up, but it did. They just wanted to soak me for alterations.

However, be careful about buying a dress that's way too small. A lot of brides think they're going to lose weight, and they don't. You can always make a too-big gown smaller, that's not aways true of a smaller gown. I think they have a half-inch or less extra in the seam. You don't want to be stuck with a dress that doesn't fit at all.

Don't worry - once it's all fixed up you'll look beautiful!!!! I'm sorry it's going to be expensive though.
