I have a project to do for a class that I am taking and need to know what the grade levels are for certain papers. If anyone knows this information or knows where I can get it, it would be such a great help to me. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing Newsday is a 7th grade level. Not sure though.

NY Times is 8th, and that's probably the highest.

Really easy to do! Find an article online from each paper copy and paste it into word then go to tools, options, spelling& grammar and check the show the readability statistics, let the spell check happen and it will tell you!

Re: Grade levels of newspapers
I know the sixth graders at the school I work in do assignments in Newsday everyday so it must be on or close to a sixth grade level. I would think the NY Times would be a couple of grades higher.

Also great for teachers to double check that your passages aren't too difficult for your students reading levels
