My friend/work collegue just completed her BA from Empire State College and I am going to her surprise graduation party (which is going to be at a firehouse). She is in her 40s.
I'm looking to buy her a gift and want to spend $40-50.
Any thoughts on something creative? All I've come up with is a Cross Pen.

maybe a gift certificate for manicure pedicure,and say something like - time to relax after all your hard work?

A pen is nice- maybe an engraved briefcase (not sure how much this will cost)
Also- a leather organizer/day planner is a good idea.
Gift certificates to restaurants are always good.

I think a nice 'relaxation gift' would be nice, too. Depends on what she likes, though. If she's not the beauty parlor type, maybe a nice, small personal gift and a GC for bath & body works or Sephora?

Is she going to have business cards? My MOH just got me a really nice card holder case and I LOVE it Don't know where she got it from, but I know Things Remembered has them and you can get them engraved.
