so my FH has been going through some health related issues... mainly, Heart Disease runs in his family and it usually attacks the males really early, heart attacks in the 30's, heart failure etc.
so a few months ago, FH had blood work done and his cholesteral, triglycerides etc. came back through the roof we just chalked it up to 1 too many cheeseburgers right before the bloodwork (though he really doesnt eat bad) so he went back the next month to repeat the bloodwork and the reults came back worse. I'm talking 300's for cholesteral, 300's for TGIs
At 25 years old, his MD put him on a rather high strength Cholesteral medication and after 2 months, his counts are back down, right where they need to be Such a relief. Of course he will always have to be careful, always be on the Tricor but knowing that heart issues are present in his side and my dad passed at 56 of a heart related issue is scary...
just had to share in case anyone else is or will be going through this!!!!

Yup I have to go through it too! My family has heart disease too! My grandmother is the worst always with congestive heart failure she is actually in the hospital now AGAIN, but my mom, aunts, cousins and my brother who is 22 all have problems already. Me and my brother both have a prolapsed mitrovalve with a slight leaks. It *****, i get palpatations all the time. When I found out I started eating better and excersing. Its very important to stay away from salt and fat and sugar! Which s*cks cause all good food has that in it! But I will keep a positive look on it! I will March on!! LOL
ANd congrats On your FH getting better!!

Re: great news
That's awesome his numbers are coming down. It's probably hereditary if he doesn't eat a lot of red meat or shellfish. Make him eat oatmeal everyday!

Re: great news
Glad to hear he is doing better on the meds. Even happier to hear that he is taking the doctor seriously even at the age of 25. Now if only I could get my FH to realize that it is not a joking matter to brush off!
