Re: Greece?
oooh oooh oooh.... I can help you guys....
we booked our greek honeymoon by first buying good island and greek mainland travel books, figuring out where we wanted to go (crete, santorini, and athens) and for how many days... We then went on tripadvisor.com for candid hotel reviews, and after we selected the hotels, we used their search engine which scans 5 major travel websites for the best price for our hotel. We then booked flights to island hop...
total cost: about $4500 for flights and good hotels in mid june... 10 days in athens, crete (chania and iraklion), and santorini
oh, one thing I heard you cannot rely on is the ferries in late summer.... it's not their fault.... the wind apparently whips around in the agean, making sea travel almost impossible at times...

Yes I've been there. I did the two week Mediterranean cruise with princess. It stopped in Santorini, Corfu, Athens, Olympia, and Mykonos. Greece is absolutely gorgeous and all of the islands are incredible. My father is from Crete which is another beautiful island. If you dont want to do the cruise then definitely look into island hopping.

Re: Greece?
We went to Greece in Sept for our hm, it was amazing. We stayed at: St. George Lybettecus (or something like that) hotel in Athens, it was so fun, romantic, gorgeous view of the Acropolis, and so young and trendy. We found out when we were there that it's actually a Starwood hotel so makes sense.
Myconian Imperial in Myconos - very very romantic, we loved Mykonos, since it was Sept party season was pretty much over but we still went out and had fun.
Andromeda - Santorini hotel, not as nice as the other 2 but fantastic view and very different type of hotel.
We went to Crete also but don't really recommend our hotel. However our friends stayed at Blue Palace and loved it there.

Make sure you pay attention to the weather! We went to Corfu during spring break and it was freezing cold rain the entire time.
