Greece and Italy

We would like to HM in Greece (Santorini) and Italy. Did anyone do this combined trip? Can you FM me? I have questions on what part of Italy? and the boat between the two... etc? Thanks,

my brother and SIL went to Greece and Italy. They flew from NY to Athens and was in Athens for only 2 days. Then they flew from Athens to Rome and did some sightseeing in the Rome area.

I did not do the combined trip, but have been to both places separately. If you go to Athens, the Hilton Athens (we stayed there at the end of our trip) is absolutely beautiful and right near most of the museums and the Metro line (a major plus). The Divani Acropolis is also nice, not as, but in a GREAT location. It's a 5 minute walk to the Acropolis, same to a metro stop, and less than 10 minutes to the plaza. I just loved our trip! We also went on a Greek cruise and stayed for a few extra days in Mykonos. Santorini was beautiful, also consider Rhodes which I loved even more.

My two cents.....I was in Greece for 3 weeks, on the island of Paros. It was gorgous. If you can make it to the islands I would definitely recommend it especially if you're looking into relaxing, the islands are perfect. To me, Athens, although it has so much history, is just another city. Be careful if you take any cabs in Athens, they drive really fast and will scare the crap out of you.

The ferries from Athens to the islands are great and well worth it.

Cool. I appreciate the feedback... We def want to see Santorini - I heard that there was a boat from Santorini to Italy.. so we will continue to look into that. Thnks for the other island suggestions too. Starting my research!

I have been to Italy and absolutely loved it. I have been to Florence, ROme, Napoli, Sorrento, Positano. If you have any questions on any of these parts feel free to ask me....

We are looking into Greece and Italy as well, but I hate flying so we're looking into a cruise that covers the Greek Isles as well as the Italian coast. Just an idea :)
