Our wedding is in three weeks...we are going to Greece. I'll post a review when we get back.

Athens we are staying at the Grande Bertagne

Santorini we are staying at the Mystique

we are also going to Crete staying at the Blue palace.

Check out trip advisor, that site was the most helpfull when planning the trip.

I didn't go on my HM, but in Athens we stayed at the Divani Palace Acroplois and the Astra Apartments on Santorini.

Astra was amazingly beautiful but it was far away from Town.

We looked into Greece briefly - look at the Rockabella or Sunrocks hotels - they look amazing

In Athens I believe we stayed at the Hotel Plaka. It's pretty basic.

In Santorini we stayed at the Aressana Hotel (in Fira). Actually, long story short..we originally booked a different hotel in Santorini and didn't like it. So we went to the Aressana Hotel to see what was available and all they had left was the honeymoon suite. It was 300 euros but I think they gave us a discount because it was last minute.. Even though it was more than what we wanted to spend we took it because we really didn't like the first hotel. It was worth it. The honeymoon suite was AWESOME. I would recommend it (especially for your honeymoon lol).

We stayed at Perivolas in Santorini. It was beautiful and listed in the book the 1,000 Places to See Before You Die. Anywhere in Oia on Santorini will be gorgeous and I'd suggest getting a place built into the cliffs. Most of the hotels in Oia are like this and they are all spectacular. We saw Mystique while we were there and it's gorgeous too. My husband and I have done a lot of traveling and we both agreed that Santorini is by far the most beautiful place we have ever seen, you are going to love it.

We only stayed one night in Athens and stayed at the St. George Lycabettus hotel. It was nice enough, had a rooftop pool, and a really clear view of the Acropolis (because the hotel is on top of of Lycabettus hill). It's fairly far from the actual sites though and I wasn't all that impressed with the rooms or the luxuriousness of the place (given the fact that it was expensive).

If you are interested in restaurant suggestions, you should definitely go to 1800 in Oia (Santorini). It's the really nice restaurant on the island and worth a visit. I'd also suggest Balthazar in Athens. It's in an old mansion, very trendy, expensive, and really good food. After hours it turns into a trendy bar scene so it's a pretty cool place to check out.

Re: Greek Honeymoon

I just got home from my honeymoon in Greece 3 days ago!

We stayed in Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini.

In Athens we stayed at Periscope hotel. It was great for what it was but not the nicest hotel there by any means. It was recently renovated, modern and in a good location in terms of the city center. However it did not have a pool or gym and the rooms were small (fairly typical size for Europe though). Breakfast was included every morning and we picked it b/c we were saving our money to go all out on the hotels in the islands.

Mykonos we stayed at Kouros Hotel and loved it! We had a suite and this place was just amazing. Fabulous view and one of the nicest pool areas I have ever been to. Breakfast was included and there was free internet access in the lobby which was nice b/c I kept wanting to check facebook to see more wedding pictures (we left the day after). This hotel was about a five minute walk from the town of Mykonos and I really have nothing bad to say about it. Sick views from every part of the hotel. We actually made friends with some locals and they said this was their favorite hotel on the island.

Santorini is georgous. DH and I have done a faiir amount of traveling as well (Australia, all over Europe, etc) and I have never seen anywhere more beautiful than Santorini. We stayed in the town of Oia as well. We went out to dinner in the other towns such as Fira and Perissa and personally I thought Oia was the best for honeymooners. Nice restaurants, great shopping and amazing views of the sunset. We stayed at Ikies House and I really really like it. Every room had a private balcony and ours had a hottub on the balcony as well. Breakfast was included and brought to us in our room each morning. The breakfast was really really good. Perivolas was next door and this looked like an incredible place as well. It had a much nicer pool area than our hotel... our hotels pool was on the small side but i didn't really spend too much time at the pool anyway with everything there to see and do. I have also heard that mystique is great.
