I belive that it is a matter of finances. The value of the dollar ***** right now and chances are that it will cost you double what you would originaly pay just to go to Greece. We actually postponed our honeymoon to Italy because of the value of the dollar; we will be going to Mexico. An all inclusive to Mexico for 7 days will cost us just as much as the plane tickets to Italy. We have family in Italy and a villa available without charges, but between the plane ticket and food it is most convenient for us to go to Mexico.
Again, I believe it is a matter of finances because they are both beautiful. I hope this helps

I have never been to St. Lucia, but I've been to the Greek Islands and they are amazing!!! By far, the best places I've ever been..i went to Mykonos, Santorini, and Ios (Mykanos was so much fun...Santorini--absolutely breathtaking...) I totally suggest it

Re: Greek islands or St.Lucia/Caribbean????
ive never been to greece but i would think these are 2 very different honeymoonds. we loved st lucia. i went for my birthday a few years back. great food, great atmosphere, great people. very poor but so welcoming and want people to 'not forget about them'. we took a tour to the volcano and drove around the entire island by van. we hit up some great restaurants and really had a relaxing, nice vacation. we almost went back for our honeymoon - either jade mountain or ladera, but thought we should go someplace we've never been before. i'm attaching some photos. one of the twin peaks and another of the sunset from our balcony. seriously, i took a nap on the balcony and every time i would wake up, the sky was a different color.
We're going to Greece for ours in July. I wanted sun and relaxation also which is why we picked Mykonos & Santorini. From what I've heard from friends who go every year, it is the perfect place to lay in the sun and soak up the atmosphere! I think either would be amazing but we also picked Greece b/c we couldn't justify spending so much on a vacation unless it was our honeymoon. We figured spend the money while we still have an excuse

We're going to the Greek Islands for our honeymoon as well. We have been to St. Lucia and it is a beautiful island. I think what one of the previous posters already mentioned is true, these are 2 very different honeymoons and yes, Greece will probably cost a lot more.

It's really up to you and what you feel like seeing and spending.
There are a lot of things to do in both places, one is as relaxing as the other. I'd think that if you choose Greece that you could expect to be running around more, since you will want to see so many things. In the Caribbean you can go see things and still have plenty of time to relax. Also, how long do you plan on going for? 7 days in Greece doesn't seem like enough time to get a lot done....usually European trips are like 12-14 days long for that reason. If you only have time or money for 7 days, I'd say go to St. Lucia, explore the ENTIRE island and roam from resort to resort. Good luck!
