Greek Live Band or CD's

Hi guys & gals! I'm new to this site and kinda just started planning my wedding. It's still a few years away - but I hate waiting for the last minute. Anyway, I'm greek and my FH is italian. I have a DJ already but I'm not sure if I should also get a Greek band or if I should just have the dj play some greek & italian songs. I have alot of greeks in my family - and I know they will hate the dj only - but i really want a dj. i was wondering if anyone knew any bands that are resonably priced and good - so maybe i can have them play for a couple of hours to please the family. I pefer to just have the dj only - but you know how family is....

I can't help you myself, but I know there's a new review up in the Brides Review forum, even though it was a 2007 wedding, where the bride had a Greek band...something Greeks, I can't remember the name, but the info is in the review.

We're just having the DJ play a few Greek and Italian songs ourselves.

We are in the same situation. MY FH is Greek and I'm Italian. I already have a DJ but we are on the search for a Greek band, also. Do you know any reputable bands?

Re: Greek Live Band or CD's

We're having the DJ do the 'Zorba' song...don't the real name, and if I hum it, that won't help here haha, followed by the Tarantella. I'm not into line dances or 'theme' songs, so this will be the extent of anything remotely fun. Then we'll probably have some old school italian-american crooners and Michael Buble for the dinner hour, I think we'll end with Buona Sera...just enough of a mix of traditional plus our own music.

Greek too!! were having both dj and band (FH is greek too so its a little easier) but we have a GREAT greek band booked... Fantasia, based in brooklyn, and pretty reasonably priced!

Hope this helps!
