Got a question??? have you ever heard of a greenback party??? I was talking to my boyfriends mom and she is going to the bridal shower for his cousins fiance…and on the invite it says green back…so that means she is requesting that you give her money…she said she has everything she needs she just wants money to pay for the wedding and this is aceptable…to just tell people to give you money….
OK so this is the most rediclous thing her and I have ever herd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who has herd of this before?

That is very tacky to come right out and ask for money, and I have never heard of this 'Green Back Shower' idea.
But even though we are registered for gifts, FH is still hoping for the $$ anyway!

I think it is in the worst taste. You should not have a shower to raise the money for your wedding and then expect a wedding gift too. I bet they expected cash for their engagement as well. I probably would not go. If I were forced to go I would give twenty bucks or a small gift.

WOW!!!!!!!!! We recently got an invite to a wedding and their website says that they don't have a registry simply because they don't need anything. They said for people not to bring gifts. However, obviously we aren't going empty handed to anything, so we are getting them a gift certificate for the shower and cash for the wedding. If you ask me, it's kind of the perfect way to get money without being rude.

Here's an idea for anyone who is invited to one of these ridiculous parties:
How about talking to family members and saying that since it's a 'GREEN' party, that each person has to buy something small and green. LOL Imagine what she would say with peas, string beans, handballs and grapes LMAO I'd SO do that!
