Grocery Store Flowers

I have a tiny budget for flowers (1k or less), has anyone booked with a grocery store like whole foods or stop&shop for event flowers? Can you give me any idea on price?

Thanks!

i have not personally done this however my friend had a tight budget for flowers too so she got bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages only and opted for a three cylinder floating candle centerpiece ...was beautiful and perfect for colder months like yourself

how many centerpieces do you need? We're doing half high and half low centerpieces and the lows are $55 each. If you did all lows, you could definitely do it within your budget depending on how many tables. We're using hidden essence.

How do I figure this out? By how many tables? Isn't that based on guests? Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning. I think we'll have about 120 guests, so 12 tables?

I definitely want low, I have lanterns I'd like to use, and looking into the trees if I can buy my own at a cheap price.

I'd also need 5 bm bouquets, my bouquet, pedals for Flower girl, 9 boutonnieres, 4-5 corsages. I have no flowers I need to be included, but do have some I'd like to exclude.

I got a quote from rachelchoinc and they had beautiful sounding ideas, but bridal bouquet alone was 250...centerpieces (using MY lanterns, 150 each.) Going to talk to michele at hidden essence but I'm actually embarrassed by my budget from the reaction of other brides.

No way! That's crazy, I saw their pamphlet, but it didn't have pricing. I wonder if it's the same across the board or varies from store to store.

Looks like their prices are decent for corsages etc, but no pricing details on wedding packaging.

Don't be embarrassed by a small budget! 120 guests could be 12 or 10 tables depending how many people you want at a table and if they're round or oblong. Definitely talk to Michelle, she can make any budget work. Especially if you're willing to use your own lanterns because you don't have to rent them from the florist. DIY with fresh flowers is rough. You'll be assembling centerpieces and bouquets the night or two before your wedding so they don't die then have to worry about getting cps to the reception venue and set up.

Not for nothing but I went to michaels the other day with my mom and they have these big flowers its called 'Ashland Spring Stems' $16.99 for one but they were on discount... I was thinking about buying 1 for each bridesmaid and they would walk down the isle with that.. no need for me to spend money on flowers that are gorgeous and then have the girls throw them out because they wont do anything with them... I don't know your theme but for me I was also originally going to order centerpieces off Etsy that you put together yourself they were succulent terrarium that they sell for $20 depending on the style... there are so many ways to work with your budget and play with other ideas..

This was my thought too, I don't have anyone to help me or I'd DIY it. I really want flowers at my wedding ( I really like flowers!) but I can't justify more than 1k on something that will die and is grown in the same greenhouse as my grocery store flower.

I'm having lantern centerpieces as well and I'm making my own flowers out of fabric and attaching the to wreaths around the lanterns. It doesn't take that long to make the flowers and I've been pacing myself. As far as bouquets I'm ordering them wholesale from Fifty Flowers and having my mom and FH's mom put them together the day before.

I've heard that Costco and BJ's also do flowers. They have pricing on their sites as well. But I would check out Designs by Rose also. She's in Queens but works on Long Island. I think she can work in your budget as well.

Just curious what type of flowers you are using? Do you have a picture of your centerpiece?

Hydrangeas and roses. They'll look similar to these but with draped crystals on the tall ones and white hydrangeas with lavender roses.

I hear you. It's crazy how expensive everything is. DIY projects can be great if you're crafty and have the time too. I agree with all the ladies. Weigh out all of your options before making a decision. Your budget is actually not that low. So don't let that discourage you. Enjoy the planning. You will find what will work for you. My florist is really great and could def work with your budget. She is very reasonable. If you want you can contact her and get a quote. At best it's just a quote and wouldn't hurt to have another option. I will fm now.
