Well he has been talking about it for a year. But I just ignore him because if I make a big deal of it then he would really do it. SO yesterday we went for the tuxes and he was really serious. I told him okay for the top hat but only at the reception. Then he started about the cane. I guess if this is what he really wants then he can do it. My FH is the wild one of his group of friends. He is the practical joker with everyone. He is really funny. I told him he could do it, it that is what he really wants. I will have to post these pictures after the wedding.

My FH is holding a light saber in alot of his pics. Not all of them though. I thought it would look ridiculous, but I let him have his fun.
Can I tell you - my favorite pictures are the ones of him with the light sabers! It's just part of who he is - a playful little boy, and he looks like he is having the most fun in those pictures with his groomsmen. I love them.
He didn't hold it for all of them, of course, and our portraits are more *serious* but if you just let him do it, I bet you can say on the day 'okay honey, now let's take a few pics without the top hat and cane.' It seems he's into it more for the 'fun, joking part' of the wedding than the 'lovely portrait taking part' of it. At least he wants to wear something that you can take off - I had to talk FH out of a leisure suit because there was no way to hide it or take it off for the portraits!!

My head says to tell you, no of course you shouldn't be annoyed-- it's his day too... let him do what he wants to do... whatever makes him happy.
My heart says that if my FH wanted to do the same thing, I would kill him.
I don't think it's wrong for you to be annoyed if you really don't like the way it looks. Maybe you can strike up a deal with him, like he can wear it for some of the pictures, not all of them. And don't worry-- with all the dancing and stuff, halfway through the reception he'll probably get hot and want to take off the hat and be uncomfortable with the cane.
