groom's attire - blue blazer and tan pants

Hi,

Is anyone considering using blue blazers and tan pants for the grooms attire? If so, how are you going to work it? (For example, everyone provides blazer, you buy pants, shirt and tie for the groomsmen?)

we had friends who had the guys wear suits and the GM all bought them... instead of renting a tux they bought suits...I thought it was a good idea..

My friend did this for their wedding in Newport. My brother was in the wedding party. They asked everyone to buy (same price as a tux) the same blue jacket and khakis (so the color would be consistent... keep that in mind for photos when they are all standing next to each other). As gifts they purchased the shirt and matching tie for the groomsmen. They gave them ties with bold colored stripes on a diagonal (see the college school ties a la J. Crew) because it was in a nautical place.
