Hi everyone- So stupid question but I have been hearing about a groom's cake and i think I would like to get one for my FH. When does the groom's cake come out during the reception, during the same time as our wedding cake? seperate time?

Re: Groom's Cake
It can be out the same time as the wedding cake, but most of us I believe, are having it at the rehearsal dinner.

At the RD, wow didn't know that...interesting because I had a girlfriend that did it at the reception. So any reccomendations on where to get a nice grooms cake? I was thinking using the same bakery that we will get our wedding cake at.

Re: Groom's Cake
Some girls have gotten theirs from Benkhert's or Audrey's, but they are expensive. I'm going to either get a Costco cake with a pic of FH's car or an ice cream cake with the same. Much cheaper and just as nice IMO

Re: Groom's Cake
I had a groom's cake at the reception - they had it right next to our wedding cake. Audrey's was the house bakeshop so I did it through them - it was only $35. I got him a small rainbow cookie cake with a pic of his lawn mower scanned on top (DH is a landscaper) and we wrote 'you mow me over' on it LOL.
Everyone got a really big kick out of it.
