Re: Groom's cake

I am just learning all this stuff myself. I am thinking of getting one in the shape of a football with FH's favorite colors for the rehersal dinner.

Some ppl have it at the wedding but i think most ppl have it at the rehersal dinner or engagement party

i just went this weekend to find out about it
its supposed to reflect the grooms personality like my FH is a HUGE mets fan so we're gonna do something along those lines
we are serving it at the RD but some people do it at the reception too
the place where i went, the guy said they start at $60 and of course the more elaborate you get the higher the price - hope that helps!

ETA: they told me i need to order it 6 six weeks before

well traditionally it is served at the wedding, single ladies take a piece home and the myth is if they put it under their pillow they'll dream of their future husband, i dont know who still does that part though lol.

It reflects the Fh's personality, usually a hobby of his. Many people now do surprise their Fh with it at the RD but some still do it at the wedding too.

Most cake places that will make wedding cakes will also make grooms cakes too.

it's a cake that the groom gets to pick out! it is usually chocolate or brown or a funky color...
and it can either be served at your rehersal or at the wedding.
a lot of people do a white/vanilla wedding cake and a chocolate groomscake. it gives guests a choice
