Original post by SoontobeMrsMc

Hi Ladies!
I have plenty of time to do this but i was wondering if anyone knew how far in advance you need to order a grooms cake? And does anyone know of a speciality cake place in Western Suffolk area?

Sayville is a little far from Babylon but it's on the way to the rehearsal dinner. Maybe it can work out. Do you know how far in advance you need to order a cake like that?

I ordered it one month in advance but I don't think it even needs to be ordered that far in advance. Send them an email..I did everything via email. It was only $110.

Ooh thats good to know. I like the fact that I can talk to them via email and then just have my mom pick up the cake on the way to the rehearsal dinner (that way FH doesnt know about it). Perfect! Thank you so much for the info.

I think I might do a grooms cake because FH birthday is the day before our wedding.

Check out Dortoni's in Levittown - I know its actually eastern nassau, not western suffolk but their cakes taste sooooooo good and I think quite a few girls on here got the grooms cakes there. . .

Thanks for all of your info everyone. I'm definitely going to keep all the mentioned places in mind. I might have to go try a few cookies from each place-just to make sure that everything is yummy!

FH is a poop. I asked if I could get him a Yankees or beer cake (his two fave things) and he said no. I bet his mom wouldn't want this at the RDinner anyway. Bummer.

Oh and this isn't for the wedding. I was going to present it to him at the rehearsal dinner-even though a cake was included. Figured this would be cute and he'd appreciate it.

SORRY!!! heheh

I am doing this too. I have asked my cousin to do mine -- something yankee related.

But thanks for all the info girls, my RD is in Sayville so if for some reason she can't do it (having 6 kids makes it hard) then I will definately check out Audrey's!!!!
