Hi Ladies! I have plenty of time to do this but i was wondering if anyone knew how far in advance you need to order a grooms cake? And does anyone know of a speciality cake place in Western Suffolk area?

Re: Grooms Cake
Could you get this at a popular bakery? I'm sorry, I did research this but only out here in NJ and we aren't even getting a fancy cake because a wedding cake is included with our hall. FH doesn't really eat cake so he doesn't want a grooms cake.

Re: Grooms Cake
I don't know. I am completely confused with all of this. Until a month ago, I didn't even know what a grooms cake was! lol
Then someone on here was talking about getting a cake made for her FH and it made me want to do the same. Our RH includes a cake but I really want to get a cake made of the Islanders Hockey rink. I think FH would love this.
I had gone to a regular bakery a while ago to get cookies made for a bridal get together- I just wanted people with 'will you be my bridesmaid' written across. And the bakery said that only speciality places make those things. So, that's why I wasnt sure where to get the grooms cake when the time comes and how far in advance I need to order it.

Oh and this isn't for the wedding. I was going to present it to him at the rehearsal dinner-even though a cake was included. Figured this would be cute and he'd appreciate it.

OMG I got my Groom's cake for our e-dinner from audrey's bakery somewhere in suffolk county. IT WAS YUMMY and it looked so real that his uncle went to pick it up and ruined my cake it was sooo funny
Great, now you've gone and made me want to get one for FH. Thanks a lot

Re: Grooms Cake
Sayville is a little far from Babylon but it's on the way to the rehearsal dinner. Maybe it can work out. Do you know how far in advance you need to order a cake like that?

Re: Grooms Cake
lol....I was thinking of getting an islanders one as a joke...but his brothers are die hard ranger fans...actually his whole family is (its crazy). They wouldn't even touch the cake knowing them.

Me too! I'm going to surprise him with a cake fashioned after the logo of his favorite soccer team. We'll have it at the rehearsal dinner. I think he'll flip over it :)

I ordered it one month in advance but I don't think it even needs to be ordered that far in advance. Send them an email..I did everything via email. It was only $110.

Re: Grooms Cake
Yeah, I think that's such a sweet special touch. After them being such good sports with all of our crazy wedding planning, I think it's only fair that we show them our appreciation with a special cake. But if he makes me mad between now and then, I'm making a cake that's half rangers and half yankees.
He would definitely end up calling off the wedding!
