Groom's Cake

Original post by markdea7699

Who's doing one? RD or Wedding Reception? I was thinking of getting a red Lambo one for FH because that's his dream car (and red is our theme). Anyone recommend any bakeries?

Re: Groom's Cake

i just came back from Villa Lombardi's and my banquet manager was saying that they prefer that i order a groom's cake from them as well .. i dont even like the designs of their regular wedding cakes. even the upgrades.. i want my cake to be bigggger! im sure the cake probably tastes good, but they're not as pretty as other cakes out there

I like the idea too . . .I don't know when to do it. . . maybe at the RD. I was thinking I would like to do it for the e-party but thats b.c I'm impatient. I think the RD, espeically if that does not come with a cake - then we have one!

BUT . . . then again, less people can have the cake.

BUT . . . at the same time, these cakes are usually on the small side too so the RD is prob the best place for it!

My sister makes cakes but she didn't have enought time to make a detailed one for my RD but she made this on which I thought was hysterical! She does them for cheap prices FM me if you would like to see pics of other cakes she makes!

we were thinking rehearsal dinner or at the wedding.. im debating cos i know we'll already have a cake at the reception, but if i serve it at the RD i'm thinking people may not have a chance to eat it (i have a huge bridal party n feel like everything's gonna be crazy).. and if i serve it at the wedding then at least it'll be in pictures and FH can look at his cake and i can look at mine? lol i dunno.. suggestions ladies please

i'm flip flopping on this too. i want to serve it the wedding so it can be in pics and family and friends can see it but then im not sure when anyone will get to eat it. and i want it to be a surprise for him.
